As trends change florist are receiving more unusual requests regarding the delivery of Valentine Flowers. Customers can be very different. Some like sending traditional bouquet of 6 red roses or 12 red roses; others send 11 red roses with 1 white- the white rose meaning you are my chosen one, or unity.
For a florist this is one of the busiest days in the calendar year. There is a lot of planning to be done to ensure a successful result. Due the red roses being very expensive to buy at wholesale, florists are very cautious that they do not purchase too many roses however; it could end up with a big surplus if the male species are not in a generous mood!
Florists need to make sure that they have plenty of roses available to achieve good sales. A good florist with trading experience will have a good indication of how many roses and Valentines flowers he or she will sell. The majority of the Valentines flower stems are roses from the Dutch regions.

The cost of Valentines flowers delivery can vary. For a good quality Red Rose, you would expect to pay from £4 per stem up to around £6 per stem sterling depending on the variety. A good quality florist would sell a bouquet of 6 red roses from around £30.00 sterling and around £60 sterling for 12 red roses.
Valentines flowers and bouquets sell from around £20 sterling and upwards. On Valentine’s Day florists have many deliveries. If Valentine’s Day falls in the working week, many deliveries of Valentines flowers are made to office and the workplace.
Valentines flowers especially Red Roses are available in different stem lengths and bud sizes. Shorter stem roses with a stem length of around 40-50 cm are usually packed 10 stems in a bunch. The taller the stem length and head size (bud) the more a rose will cost.
Florists tend to buy roses at around 60 cm-70 cm packed per 20 stems in a wrap. On arrival of the roses a florist would recondition her Valentines flowers. Firstly a florist would remove all the packaging and carefully one by one remove a third of the foliage from the base of the stem.
The florist would also carefully with a sharp knife or scissors remove the thorns. Once this procedure has been finished Red Roses and Valentines flowers are ready to send!
